    TOUR OVERVIEW

    This tour will be ONE HELLUVA WEEKEND! We are putting up a special experience where all of the magic happens by the countryside, on the outskirts of Tromsø city. The place to be is called SØRREISA, a charming, lazy suburb. Sørreisa has a big lake and the locals line their houses along the lake. Locations of houses in Sørreisa are rather sparse. There is a luxury of space which is very characteristic of Norway.

     

    You will stay in a traditional Norwegian cabin, located romantically by the water.Overlooking the balcony is an open view which allows the Northern Lights to be easily visible, should Lady Aurora comes for a visit.

     

    The Northern Lights Countryside Tour is like no other that we have designed before! On this tour, we aim to give you the true, authentic Norwegian experience by sharing with you the local flavours too. All meals will be covered and yes, we’ll be packing a variety of Norwegian cuisines in the meals.

     

    Over the 3 days and 2 nights, you’ll be chasing the Northern Lights on 2 nights. You'll also catch breathtaking landscapes on a road trip to Senja Island and indulge in activities not available in the city, like Snowsledding and Tent Sauna.

  • ITINERARY

    Day 1 - From Oslo to Bardufoss

     

    • Flight Schedule: 0900 to 1050 or later (By Carrier Norwegian Airlines ONLY)
    • Pick up by Guide 
    • Check into Cabin- 4 persons per Cabin. 
    • LUNCH
    • Activity of Choice : Choose between TENT SAUNA, SNOWSLEDDING, ICE-FISHING, SNOWSHOE WALKING or LEARN HOW TO DO CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
    • DINNER
    • 1800: Aurora Chase – Remember to pack on those wool layers and wool socks!

     

    Take a moment to breathe in the crisp air upon your arrival at the Bardufoss Airport. Our guide will lead you to your chambers by the lake where you will reside for the next two nights. During lunch, discuss which activity you’ll indulge after lunch. Take your pick …which one will it be? After dinner, you will set out for an adventure like no other. Our amazing Guide will bring you to the best spots to watch Aurora. May the Force of Nature be with you! While waiting for Aurora to show, you’ll get to enjoy your cuppa of hot cocoa and some refreshments. Immerse yourself in the raw surroundings - feel the touch of warmth from the glowing bonfire and the cool air that night. To top it off, Aurora might just be dancing up above! This will be a night to treasure.

    Day 2 – Bardufoss

    You’re probably still HIGH from your first encounter of Aurora Borealis last night. If luck was not on your side, fret not! There’ll be another shot at catching the Northern Lights tonight! But before that, after breakfast you’ll be whisked away on a road trip to SENJA ISLAND! Get ready to be spellbound by many breathtaking sceneries. Here’s a chance to take lots of pictures with beautiful Mother Nature.

    Senja Island is also referred to as “Norway-in-a-nutshell”. It offers many landscapes that are typical of various areas around Norway. Senja Island features landscapes of mountains, fjords, beaches, forests, small lakes and the arctic wildlife, all of which form the essence of untouched, raw nature of Norway.

    At Senja Island, our Guide will whip up one of his signature lunch outdoors! He will show off his fine culinary skills and lunch will be served in the open. This is a special treat that is only available by the countryside!

    After the road trip, there’ll be some time for you to charge your batteries or upload photos on Facebook. Soon, dinner will be served at your cabin and then, it’s time for the finale of Nature’s mind-blowing light show! Aurora responds to good vibes. You get what you bring to the table. So, keep your hopes up and bring on your best high energies on the chase- and she’ll come dancing!

  • Day 3 – From Bardufoss to Oslo

    • BREAKFAST– on your own
    • OPTIONAL ADD-ON ACTIVITY : DOG-SLEDDING, WHALE WATCHING**, SNOWMOBILE SAFARI
    • Transfer to Bardufoss Airport 
    • Fly from Bardufoss to Oslo Airport 

    We hope you had a great escape and a MOST MEMORABLE WEEKEND! Before you pack up and leave, how about another highlight activity? Anyone in for some ADRENALINE RUSH on a DOG-SLED? While many dream of catching the Northern Lights, it is said that DOG-SLEDDING is the number 2 dream activity in winter. Simply let us know prior to the tour if you’d like to do dog-sledding and we’ll be happy to fulfill your no. 2 dream winter activity.

    ** NOTE : Whale-watching is seasonal and is available til late January or early February only

    Any dates to your preference. This tour is perfect as a weekend tour.

    Pls note that there are no flights by Norwegian Airlines flying out from Oslo on Saturdays. Only 1 carrier, Norwegian Airlines goes from Oslo to Bardufoss.

    ACCOMMODATION

    You will stay at charming Norwegian cottage with full facilities including private toilet-bathroom & kitchen.

    There are 2 bedrooms per cabin. 1 bedroom has a double bed while the other has 3 single beds.

    The cabin is equipped with a kitchenette with an oven, a cooking stove and a mini fridge.

    Should there be more than 5 persons, we'll happily move you to a hotel, at no extra charge!

    FLIGHTS

    Flights are NOT included in the price. You will take a direct flight from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Bardufoss Airport. Highly recommended that you take the earliest flight to Bardufoss.

    From the airport, our trusted Guide will welcome you and drive you to the cabin.

    FOOD

    All meals provided - traditional Norwegian comfort food await!

    Lunch will be cooked outdoors on-the-spot during the activities.

    Dinner will be served in the cabins.

    For breakfast, you will be provided with bread, eggs and various Norwegian spreads, for you to fix your morning meal on your own.

    TRANSPORTATION

    All transportation related to activities is provided, including 2-way airport transfers.
